The Karabiner 98 kurz — Kar98k for short — was the standard service rifle of the German Wehrmacht from 1935 until the end of the Second World War. Developed by Mauser as a shortened, modernised carbine of the Gewehr 98, more than 14 million were built between 1935 and 1945. It saw service on every front: France 1940, Stalingrad, North Africa, Normandy and the final defence of Berlin. After the war it was so widely captured that Kar98k variants stayed in service with the Yugoslav, Norwegian, Iranian, Israeli and many other armies into the 1980s. Today the rifle is still carried ceremonially by the Bundeswehr Wachbataillon (Guard Battalion) for state honours — the only K98 still on issue to a NATO unit.
This airsoft replica uses a genuine wood stock with steel butt plate, a full metal receiver and barrel, and a working bolt with an authentic-feel cycle. The shell-ejecting magazine holds five metal shells, each loaded with a single BB. Cycle the bolt and the spent shell pops out the side, just like the real Mauser action. Iron sights replicate the German rear-sight ramp and front blade. The wood is varnished, the metal matte-blacked, and the receiver markings are tasteful enough that the rifle reads as a museum piece on the shelf as well as a working airsoft replica.
Internally this is a spring-powered bolt-action: every shot is cocked by hand on the bolt. Muzzle velocity is approximately 350 FPS / 107 m/s with 0.20 g BBs (≈ 1.14 J), with an adjustable hop-up to extend effective range. With a 500 mm precision inner barrel (6.02 mm tightbore), accuracy is excellent for one-shot, one-kill skirmish play and historical role-play.
The metal shells use the same pattern as our Kar98 polymer-stock version and the British Lee-Enfield SMLE shell-ejecting rifle — spares are interchangeable across all three.
If you prefer the same Kar98k action at a lower price, see the Kar98 polymer-stock version. For the Allied side, pair against the British Lee-Enfield SMLE, the later Lee-Enfield No. 4 Mk I, or the Soviet Mosin-Nagant 1891/30 PU sniper. Add close-quarters firepower with the German StG 44 or the British STEN MK2 SMG.
I have received the package, and I am very happy, thank you!!!
