This is the SVD Dragunov as it was meant to be seen — with genuine wood furniture, not painted plastic. The grip, handguard and skeleton stock are real wood, hand-finished and oiled, giving the rifle the colour, grain and substantial 3.6-kg weight of the original. Combined with the metal body and full 1120 mm length, this is the collector-grade SVD for reenactors and serious airsoft snipers.
Cheap SVD replicas use ABS plastic painted to look like wood. The illusion breaks at the first close-up photo. This rifle has actual hardwood — fingers feel the grain, light catches the oil finish, and the weight makes shouldering it feel like the real thing. For WW2/Cold War film and reenactment work, this is the level of authenticity that shows on camera.
Spring-powered spring-cocking: ~400 FPS / 1.49 J with 0.20 g BBs, a long 600 mm tight-bore 6.02 mm inner barrel for genuine range, and a one-shot-per-cycle rhythm that forces good marksmanship. Step up to 0.25–0.28 g BBs and the rifle is comfortably effective at 40–50 m. No gas, no battery, no electronics — just clean spring power that works in any weather.
Tip: the SVD-pattern scope mount accepts a classic 4×24 PSO-1 style scope — pair it with this rifle and you have the textbook Soviet sniper setup for display, reenactment or the field.
